Fabricating architectural volume: Casting concrete, cutting stone, building with foam.
Jelle Feringa and Asbjørn Søndergaard are founding partners in Odico Formwork Robotics, a technology enterprise dedicated to large scale architectural robotic formwork fabrication. Founded in 2012 in a joining of research trajectories at the Fabricate 2011 conference, Odico Formwork Robotics brings together their expertise in related fields of architectural research and practice.
Jelle Feringa is co-founder of EZCT Architecture and Design Research. The work of EZCT is part of the permanent collection of the Pompidou Center and the FRAC Orléans collection with recent work exhibited at Archilab 2013. While developing his PhD thesis at Hyperbody TU Delft, Jelle esthablished a robotics lab in the harbor of Rotterdam in 2011. He is CTO at Odico and developer off the offline robotics programming platform PyRAPID that lies at the heart of Odico’s operation.
Asbjørn Søndergaard is an architectural researcher working in the field of digital fabrication and computational structural design. Within the field of topology optimization of architectural structures, he heads several interdisciplinary research efforts. As Chief Development Officer of Odico, and coordinator of Digital Experimentation at Aarhus School of Architecture he engages the cross-fertilization between architectural design and industrial robotics.
